This Policy covers the personal data of visitors, applicants, learners, parents and guardians, and corporate contacts that we handle through skild.co.in, our Learning Hub, our forms, calls, WhatsApp, SMS and email, and our social media pages (together, the "Platform"). We decide why and how this data is used, so under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we are its "Data Fiduciary".
2The laws this Policy follows#
- the Information Technology Act 2000 (section 43A) and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules 2011;
- the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules 2025, as their provisions come into force;
- the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020; and
- the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021, for anything learners post on the Platform.

| Class recordings | your voice, video and chat messages, if you speak, switch your camera on or type during a live class | during live classes (section 8) |

We do not ask for government ID numbers, health information, caste, religion or biometric data. If a specific process ever needs one of these, we will ask for your consent at that point and explain why. Your Learning Hub password is held in encrypted form by our Learning Hub provider; we cannot read it.
4Cookies, pixels and tracking tools#
Beyond what the site needs to work, we use analytics and advertising tools: to understand how the site is used, and to measure our ads and show them to people who have visited us. If you accept advertising cookies, our advertising partners may also receive information about actions you take on our site, such as sending a form.
These tools run only after you accept them on our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Our Cookie Policy explains the types of cookies we use and how to choose.
5Why we use your data, and on what basis#
| Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry, booking your free session, sending the information you asked for | the purpose you gave us the data for (a "legitimate use" under section 7 of the DPDP Act) |
| Enrolling you, taking payment, running classes, giving access to recordings, assessing work, issuing and verifying certificates | your consent at enrolment, and the purpose you gave us the data for |
| Placement support and sharing your profile with companies | your separate opt-in consent |
| Marketing messages about other programs, events and offers | your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Analytics and advertising cookies and pixels | your consent on the cookie banner |
| Using your name, photo, project or outcome in our marketing | your separate written consent (section 8) |
| Invoices, tax records, answering lawful requests, court orders | our legal obligations |
| Preventing fraud, piracy and misuse of the Platform | our legal obligations, and the purpose you gave us the data for |
Where we rely on consent, we ask for it with a clear action: a box you tick, a button you press, or a choice on the cookie banner. We never use pre-ticked boxes, and agreeing to marketing is never a condition of enrolling. If we want to use your data for a new purpose, we will ask you first.
6Calls, WhatsApp, SMS and email#
- What you asked for. When you submit a form or book a session, our admissions team contacts you by call, WhatsApp, SMS or email about that request.
- Service messages. If you enrol, we send class schedules, links, reminders, assessment results, payment receipts and certificate updates. These continue while you are enrolled.
- Marketing. We send news of other programs, events and offers only if you have agreed to receive them. To stop, use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP on WhatsApp or SMS, or write to our Grievance Officer. We act on opt-outs within 3 working days.
- Telecom rules. Our promotional calls and SMS follow the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, including your Do Not Disturb preferences.
8Recordings, testimonials and your work#
- Live classes are recorded so that learners in your cohort can watch them again. If you speak, switch your camera on or type in the chat, you appear in the recording. You can keep your camera off and ask questions in private chat.
- Recordings stay inside the Learning Hub for learners of your course and our teaching team. We do not use a recording in which you appear in our marketing without your written consent.
- Testimonials, names, photos and outcomes. We publish your name, photo, quote, project or job outcome only with your separate written consent, given after the outcome it describes. You can withdraw it at any time and we will take the item down from the Platform within 7 working days.
9How long we keep it#
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Enquiries from people who do not enrol | 24 months after our last contact with you |
| Learner records (enrolment, attendance, assessments) | for your program and 3 years after it ends |
| Certificate details | for as long as the certificate can be verified, so employers can check it |
| Class recordings | for as long as the course is offered, as part of continued access under our Terms |
| Admissions call recordings | 6 months |
| Invoices and payment records | as long as tax laws require (up to 8 years) |
| Placement profile | until you opt out, or 24 months after your program ends, whichever is earlier |
| Analytics and advertising data | up to 14 months |
| Security and access logs | 1 year (180 days of it in India), as CERT-In directions and the DPDP Rules require |
When a period ends, or when you withdraw consent and no law requires us to keep the data, we delete it or make it anonymous, and we ask our service providers to do the same.
10Where it is stored and how we protect it#
Where. Some of our service providers store or process data outside India. We transfer data only to countries the Government of India has not restricted, and under contracts that require the same level of protection.
How. We use reasonable security practices under the IT Rules 2011, including encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, activity logs and backups. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never happen; section 13 says what we do if one does.
11Learners under 18#
Some of our programs accept learners under 18. For them:
- A parent or legal guardian enrols the learner, accepts our Terms and pays. A learner under 18 cannot enrol alone.
- We obtain the parent's or guardian's verifiable consent through our signed parental consent form before we process the learner's data, and we may verify the identity of the person signing.
- No tracking or advertising. For a learner we know to be under 18, the only tracking we do is the attendance and progress records needed to teach them. We do not use analytics or advertising tools for them, and we keep their details out of these tools.
- Through a school or college. Where an institution enrols the learner, our agreement with the institution sets out how consent is obtained.
- If we find a gap. If we learn that we hold a minor's data without the right consent, we delete it, unless a law requires us to keep it (section 9).
- Parents stay in control. A parent or guardian may see, correct or delete the learner's data at any time by writing to our Grievance Officer, subject to the records a law requires us to keep (section 9).
12Your rights#
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with;
- correct, complete or update it;
- erase it, unless a law requires us to keep it (section 9);
- stop using it for any purpose based on your consent, including marketing and placement sharing (this does not undo what was done before);
- let someone you nominate exercise these rights if you die or become unable to act yourself; and
- resolve a grievance about how we handle your data.
How. Write to our Grievance Officer from the email or mobile number you registered with, saying what you want. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within one month. There is no fee.
If you withdraw a consent we need to run your program, we may not be able to continue it; any refund follows our Refund Policy.
13If something goes wrong#
If your personal data is ever exposed in a security breach, we will tell you without delay what happened, what it may mean for you, what we are doing about it, what you can do to protect yourself, and who to contact about it. We also report it to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
14Changes#
When we change this Policy, the date at the top changes. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we tell you by email or WhatsApp at least 14 days before it applies. We will not reduce your rights under this Policy without your consent.
